    What: A postcard-writing party! The cards, addresses, and your choice of three tested messages to write will be provided. Please bring some postcard stamps (if you can) and be ready to write.   • Wauconda Township Democrats August Meeting

    What: The August meeting of the Wauconda Township Democrats. Various political topics will be covered including a recap of the Day of Action, DNC update, planning for canvassing, elected officials and candidate updates, and local updates from members who are village trustees.   • Northwest Lake County DNC Watch Party & Potluck, Co-Sponsored by Lake Dems and Lake Villa Dems, in Partnership with the Avon Dems, Indivisible Western Lake County, Antioch Dems, and Grant Township Dems

    When: Thursday, August 22, starting at 6:00pm.

    Where: Lake County Grayslake Office, 100 N. Atkinson Rd. (Agora Co-Working), Grayslake (Please note: the event is up a flight of stairs, and there is no elevator.)

    What: Watch Kamala Harris and Tim Walz receive their party’s endorsement and write postcards for Wisconsin and Eric Rinehart. It’s a potluck, too! Bring some yummies to share. Suggested: Crockpot dishes, casseroles, salad mix, snack mixes, paper plates/cups/utensils/napkins, drinks, etc. Kids are welcome. Please RSVP here.

  • Southeast Lake County DNC Watch Party Co-Sponsored by Lake Dems, Moraine Dems, Shields Dems, and West Deerfield Dems

    When: Thursday, August 22. Join us starting at 6:00pm to watch all the speeches leading up to Vice President Harris’s acceptance speech to round out the evening.

    Where: Gorton Center at 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest

    What: Join fellow Democrats watching Vice President Harris’s acceptance speech and the speeches leading up to it. A light meal will be offered at an affordable price. RSVP here.

  • Watergate – Investigation and Resignation with Barry Bradford

    When: Friday, August 23, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00pm
    Where: Indian Trails Public Library, Lake Cook Room, 355 Schoenbeck Rd., Wheeling
    What: Historian and author Barry Bradford presents a multi-media program commemorating the 50th anniversary of Richard Nixon’s resignation. He will tell little-known stories of how Richard Nixon’s corrupt presidency came to an end. Register here.

  • Walk with Indivisible Western Lake County (IWLC) in the Lindenfest Parade

    When: Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 9:30 to 11:30am. Line up at 9:30, step off at 10:30am. Parade position #9.
    Where: Bonner Heritage Farm, 201 Country Place, Lindenhurst.
    What: Walk with IWLC in the Lindenfest Parade. Walkers will be passing countywide candy bags. They must arrive at 9:30 because parade officials close down the street. To RSVP, email Esther Hebbard at ehebbard1@gmail.com.

  • Help Win Over Wisconsin for Harris/Walz and Other Democrats

    When:  Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:00 noon until 3:00pm. Carpools will leave Lake County locations at 10:45am and return around 4:30pm.

    Where: We’ll designate meeting points in Lake County for those wishing to carpool to Democratic headquarters in Kenosha. We’ll gather at the Kenosha County Democratic Party’s staging/training site before heading out to canvass in the area.

    What: Win Over Wisconsin (WOW!), a Lake Dems project, in conjunction with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin (WisDems), to persuade voters to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. This is also an opportunity to help Democrats hold the Senate and flip the House. Knock doors and speak with voters identified as undecided or leaning Democratic. Pre-canvassing orientation and training provided by WisDems. RSVP here.

  • Lake Villa Dems Blue Wave Social

    When: Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00pm
    Where: Lake County Democrats Grayslake Headquarters (Agora Coworking), 100 N. Atkinson Rd., Suite 106, Grayslake
    What: The first Lake Villa Dems fundraiser social features pizza and drinks. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks or desserts. Funds collected will be used to support Democrats in the upcoming elections through postcards targeting the youth vote, booths at local events, parade gear, etc. Donate here.

Attendees are requested to order some food/drink, bring some postcard stamps and a pen, and be ready to write and socialize! Postcards will be provided.   • Lake Dems and Fremont Dems Write Postcards to Swing States to Elect Democrats

    Where: Lake County Democrats Grayslake Headquarters (Agora Coworking), 100 N. Atkinson Rd., Grayslake. Meet on the second floor – there is no elevator.
    What: The Lake County Democrats, in conjunction with the Fremont Democrats, are writing postcards to swing states. Volunteers are needed to help write messages and address a few hundred postcards. Refreshments and pizza will be provided. To RSVP or for questions, email fremontdems@gmail.com.

  • Team Nabeela Day of Action

    Where: Nabeela Syed Campaign Office, 1252 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine
    What: The kickoff of Nabeela Syed’s campaign for re-election to State Representative. Volunteers will meet at the campaign office for training, then knock on doors and talk to voters. RSVP here.

  • Knock Doors with Lake Dems to Help Win Over Wisconsin (WOW!)

    When: Sunday, September 1, 2024. Line up at 11:30am. Step off at Noon
    Where: Meet on Buffalo Grove Road near Thompson. Parade ends at Mike Rylko Park on Deerfield Road near Rt.83 where the rest of the Buffalo Grove Days activities are held. Slots Green 53-56
    What: Show your enthusiasm for all of our Democratic candidates by walking with Cong. Schneider, Rep. Dan Didech, State Senator Adriane Johnson, State's Attorney Eric Rinehart, Circuit Court Clerk Erin Cartwright Weinstein, County Clerk Anthony Vega, Lake County Board Members Marah Altenberg and Sara Knizhnik, and Lake Dems volunteers in the Buffalo Grove Days Parade on Sunday.   • Walk in the Zion-Benton Labor Day Parade with Lake Dems and State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart

    When: Monday, September 2, 2024. Line up at 12:30pm. Step off at 1:00pm
    Where: Line up in Shiloh Park, 1619 27th St, Zion. Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart is in the last spot in the parade where he’ll get lots of attention.
    What: Show your support for our great State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart by walking with him at the Zion-Benton Labor Day Parade. Under his leadership, crime is down in Lake County. Eric also strongly supports the Illinois Assault Weapons Ban and a woman’s right to choose. Everyone who walks with Eric in this parade will receive a free Rinehart t-shirt!

  • Running for Local Office: Getting and Staying on the Ballot

    When: Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00pm

    What: Prominent election attorney Ed Mullen will lead a Lake Dems discussion about running for village, school board, library, park board and township offices. Petitions are currently being circulated for February/April elections. 1 hour of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit available for attorneys. Admission is free. Open to Democrats.

  • Grand Opening of Maria Peterson’s Campaign Office with Guest Robyn Gabel

    When: Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Where: Maria Peterson’s Campaign Office, 777 Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington
    What: Maria Peterson and Special Guest Illinois House Majority Leader Robyn Gabel celebrate the opening of Maria’s campaign office. There will be food, lemonade, and coffee. At 11am they will start launching canvasses for those interested in helping. To RSVP, call 312.593.1886.
