    What: The Lake Villa Dems will be hosting a booth at the annual Celebration of Fall. Folks can stop by, say “Hi,” sign petitions for upcoming municipal candidates and show support. To volunteer at our booth, sign up here.

    What: Tips/Best Practices for Precinct Committeepersons and Grassroots Volunteers. The stakes of the election couldn’t be higher. Join us for a how-to for Lake Dems Precinct Committeepersons and grassroots Democratic volunteers presented by Lake Dems Field Director Andrew Katz, who served as Illinois State Field Director for the Obama campaign (and others). Talking to voters face-to-face is the single most effective way to persuade voters to support our candidates. Success this fall will depend on all of us, and the more people we get talking to voters directly, the more successful we will be. Open to Democrats.   • Highland Park Presidential Debate Watch Party

    When: Doors open at 7:00pm; Debate starts at 8:00pm. Conversation and activities before debate begins.
    Where: Wayfarer Theaters, 1850 Second Street, Highland Park
    What: Presidential Debate Watch Party with Lake Dems at the recently reopened, ultra-comfortable Wayfarer Theaters. Experience the debate in style. Sit back and relax in your recliner as you watch. Popcorn included. Concessions available for purchase. Come cheer on Kamala Harris as she takes on Donald Trump. Fun times before the debate even starts: Get your picture taken with a Kamala cutout, make bracelets, hear from some social media influencers, write postcards (provided to attendees who want them) to swing states, chat with other Democrats excited for the big event, and more. RSVP required. Cost of admission is proof of a direct contribution of $20 or more to the Harris campaign starting on 9/6/24. Once you RSVP for this event, you will receive a confirmation email — you can click the link on that confirmation to contribute directly to the Harris Victory Fund.     What: An afternoon of knocking doors for Democrats up and down the ballot in Lake Villa Township. Volunteers will be paired with an experienced canvasser who will teach you. Postcards will be available for those who cannot door knock due to physical limitations. RSVP here.

If you need a ride or can drive others, let us know when you register as we’ll have designated meeting points in Lake County for those wishing to carpool.

  • Not Another Postcard Writing Party! with Lake Dems and IWLC

    When: Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00pm
    Where: Lake Villa District Library, 140 N. Munn Rd., Lindenhurst
    What: Lake Dems and Indivisible Western Lake County (IWLC) are writing 300 postcards. In order to get these written and stamped in three hours, their goal is to have 30 people attend. So please bring a friend and a roll of stamps. There will be a QR code handy if you cannot find stamps at the local post office.
  • Lake Dems Canvassing Training and Knocking Doors in Highland Park

  • Grant Township Democrats Roadway Clean-up
