  • Getting and Staying on the Ballot: The Petition Process

    When: Monday, August 4, 2025, at 6:30pm

    Where: Online via Zoom. Link will be sent on the day of the event.

    What: A practical training hosted by Lake Dems for volunteers, candidates, prospective candidates, and their staffs about the petition process (to get and stay on the ballot) in Illinois. Presentation by prominent election attorney Ed Mullen. With so much at stake in 2026, and petitions able to be circulated beginning on Tuesday, August 5, learning about this part of the campaign process is important and timely. 1.0 hour Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit available for attorneys.   • Adriane Johnson Amphitheater Naming

    When: Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 5:30pm

    Where: Mike Rylko Community Park, 951 McHenry Rd., Buffalo Grove

    What: The Amphitheater at Mike Rylko Community Park will be officially named in honor of State Senator Adriane Johnson. Event includes the naming, the Pino Farina Band, food trucks, a business expo, and free giveaways. Local first responders will add to the festivities.

  • Ela Township Democrats Monthly Meeting

    Where: Maplewood Park, 900 Clay Ct., Deerfield

    What: West Deerfield Township Democrats will hold a signature-gathering event to help Democratic candidates get on the ballot. Drive-through ballot signing will occur from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Only 10 minutes are needed to provide signatures. Residents may also attend the West Deerfield Township Democrats potluck picnic from 12:00 to 2:00pm.
