  • Information Forum for Families of Adults with Disabilities

    Where: Warren-Newport Public Library, 224 N. O’Plaine Rd., Gurnee
    What: State Senator Mary Edly-Allen and State Representatives Laura Faver Dias and Joyce Mason host an information event for families and caregivers of adults with disabilities.   • Cookies and Conversation at Lake County Democratic Waukegan Headquarters During ArtWauk

    What: Please join us for another of our Cookies and Conversation events Saturday, March 16, at 5pm in Waukegan. This event is an opportunity to talk with like-minded Democrats about the 2024 election – and is an important step toward making a difference as we fight to protect reproductive freedom, save our democracy, and prevent gun violence.

    We’ll meet at 5pm at Lake County Democratic Headquarters in Waukegan, 228 N. Genesee (across from the Genesee theater). This event is during ArtWauk, a festive monthly event the third Saturday of each month in Waukegan. Galleries and other venues in the Arts & Entertainment District, where our office is located, are open to passersby and celebrate the city’s growing art community.

  • Protest/Informational Picket with Letter Carriers Union

    When: Monday, March 25, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:30pm
    Where: Outside the DoubleTree Hotel, 2111 Butterfield Rd., Downers Grove, where U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is scheduled to speak at 3:00pm. Protest/informational picket will take place rain or shine.

    What: Join us, along with the Illinois State Association of Letter Carriers and other people who care about the survival of democracy, at this informational picket of Trump-appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. Letter Carriers know about his right-wing scheme, and they want the public to know, too. It will raise the price and slow the delivery of all types of mail, including life-saving medications, payments, and time-sensitive mail, including Vote By Mail ballots.

  • Dan and Holly’s Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

    What: State Representative Dan Didech and Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim hold a Solar Eclipse watching party. Certified Solar Eclipse Safety Glasses will be distributed, courtesy of the Illinois Optometric Association. Snacks will be served. RSVP here.

  • National Crime Victims’ Rights Week – 2024 Panel Discussion

    What: In honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, in collaboration with the College of Lake County Criminal Justice Department and the Human Services/Social Work Department, is hosting a panel discussion about the importance of victims rights.
