Candidates File Petitions to Get on the Ballot
Lake Dems, our Democratic township organizations, and candidates held in-person and drive-through signing and notarization events during the petition circulation period that began on January 13. On Monday, the results were clear.
Long lines of elected officials, candidates, and staffers waited in the snow for the doors to open at the Lake County Clerk’s office so they could file their petitions on the first day to get on the 2022 primary ballot.
We are excited to see so much interest in running for office and support for the democratic process in Lake County. We would like to salute all the Democrats who put themselves forward to run for office this year and the people who helped them by gathering signatures, organizing petition drives, and turning the petitions in to the County Clerk’s Office or State Board of Elections.
