Highland Park, IL — On Saturday, April 19, more than 2,000 people peacefully demonstrated in Highland Park in protest of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their MAGA allies. The countywide day of action rally was organized by the Lake County Democrats, Moraine Township Democrats, and other grassroots groups.
“People are fed up by what they’ve seen, and alarmed by what extreme, harmful action is coming next from Trump and Musk,” said Lake County Democrats Chair Lauren Beth Gash. “Today’s demonstration made clear that the people of Lake County are actively resisting the idea of a return to a tyrant and a king to rule us. 250 years after our Revolutionary War began, we’re saying no kings. Trump certainly isn’t all-knowing, otherwise he wouldn’t have failed so miserably to bring down prices on day one like he promised to do.”
Saturday’s event continues the momentum in Lake County for standing up to Trump and Musk, as the Lake County Democrats recently have organized peaceful demonstrations in Libertyville, Gurnee, and other areas as well.
