Thank you to everyone who helped make our Lake County Democrats Annual Shades of Blue Awards Dinner such a great evening. It was action-packed, reflecting the high energy on the Democratic side at this important moment for our country. (Pictures below; click here for more.)
Nearly 225 people heard from more than two dozen elected officials and candidates — Democrats in office or running for US Senate, US House, statewide office, state legislator, countywide positions, and local office. Several township chairs, activists, longtime volunteers — and some new folks — enjoyed time with like-minded Democrats. Our Keynote Speaker was Christian Mitchell, JB Pritzker’s running mate and our next Lieutenant Governor. It was exciting to hear from such a rising star and an important leader for Illinois now and in the future. Thank you, Christian, for joining us in Lake County! Special thanks go out to our award winners — Leadership Award recipient Lake County Clerk Anthony Vega, Trailblazer Award winner Antioch trustee and Lake County Board candidate Jose Martinez, and Volunteer of the Year Colleen Jenn. We’re so thankful for your hard work, and so proud to have you with Lake Dems. “Shades of Blue” is about recognizing the gains we’ve made in Lake County as Democrats, and areas where we have more to do. Let’s use our Awards Dinner as a springboard into 2026. It’s clearer and clearer that Democrats reflect the values of Lake County, and we will continue to show that next election.
