  • Grant Township Democrats Roadside Cleanup

    When: Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00am

    Where: Meet at parking lot off Rollins Road at the Long Lake Trailhead in Grant Woods, between Fairfield and Wilson Roads.

    What: Grant Township holds a roadside cleanup in Ingleside. Wear long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes and gloves.

  • Free Shred Day

    When: Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1:30 to 4:30pm

    Where: The North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Rd., Northbrook

    What: The offices of State Senators Julie Morrison and Laura Fine, and State Representatives Bob Morgan, Jonathan Carroll and Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz are joining with the YMCA to bring the community a free drive-thru shred event. A shredding truck will be available to destroy residents’ documents with personal information. For more information, visit the Facebook page.

  • Apple Picking with Holly Kim

    When: Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm

    Where: Address of Mundelein private orchard provided upon RSVP. Register here.

    What: Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim and attendees will pick Honeycrisp apples at a private orchard in Mundelein. The event includes a BBQ lunch, a petting zoo and live music by a local artist (TBD).

  • Day of Action for Anthony Vega and Gina Roberts

    When: Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:30pm

    Where: 10481 Illinois Ave., Beach Park. Meet at private residence before heading out.

    What: Benton Township Dems sponsors a Day of Action to support Anthony Vega for Lake County Clerk and Gina Roberts for Lake County Board District 4. Attendees will knock on doors, talk to voters and leave literature to turn out voters. Training will be provided. Register here.

  • Go North to Help Mandela Barnes and Gov. Tony Evers Win in Wisconsin

    When: Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00pm

    Where: Meet up at a location to be announced in either Kenosha or Racine, or connect with carpools at locations in Northern Illinois TBA

    What: Join a group going to Wisconsin. Following a brief training, we’ll knock doors for Democratic candidate for Senate Mandela Barnes and Democratic Governor Tony Evers. Helping Mandela Barnes defeat Ron Johnson could mean the difference between losing the Senate or increasing our Democratic majority. Re-electing Governor Evers would keep in place a critical check against the Republican-controlled Wisconsin legislature. Sign up here.

    What: Color of Equity and July Fourth Survivor sponsor the campaign kickoff fundraiser supporting Sheriff John Idleburg and Lake County Board candidate Sara Knizhnik.

  • Deputy Voter Registrar Training in Libertyville

    When:  Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 3:00pm

    Where:  Lake County Central Permit Facility – 2nd Floor Conference Room, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville

    What:  A training for Deputy Voter Registrars will be held. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and registered to vote in Lake County. The event is open only to Lake County residents who are interested in helping to register new voters. Deputy Registrars must be trained in the county in which they live, but once trained, can register voters anywhere in Illinois. Training takes about an hour.
    This training is being held through the County Clerk’s office and is free of charge. Sign-ups will be taken up to 24 hours before the class starts.     What: Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force sponsors the 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk (virtual) for Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Attendees are asked to walk wherever they feel comfortable, whether that is in their local downtown, forest preserve, neighborhood, or even on a treadmill!
