    What: Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, Lake County Sheriff and Lake County Health Department sponsor Part 2 of the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Series of Mini-Summits on Deflection & Diversion inside and outside of our legal system. The event will focus on programs that seek to provide treatment for those in mental health crisis as opposed to jails or emergency rooms.   • Deputy Voter Registrar Training in Waukegan

    When:  Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 9:30am

    Where:  Lake County Court Tower,  Sheriff’s Training Room, 301 Washington St., FL 1, Waukegan

    What:  Lake Dems is sponsoring volunteers to become Deputy Voter Registrars. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and registered to vote in Lake County. The event is open only to Lake County residents who are interested in helping to register new voters. Deputy Registrars must be trained in the county in which they live, but once trained, can register voters anywhere in Illinois. Training takes about an hour.
    This training is being held through the County Clerk’s office and is free of charge. Sign-ups will be taken up to 24 hours before the class starts. Late sign-ups may or may not be added to the class.  Register online. If you’re interested in helping organize voter registration, contact Lake Dems at info@lakedems.org.

    What: BG Pride and The Pinta Pride Project sponsor their 5th Annual Family Friendly Pride Parade with the theme, “The Magic of Pride.” You're welcome to walk with us in the Lake Dems spot in the parade - Spot B12. Kids welcome. Please arrive between 10:15 and 10:30am. The parade ends at Mike Rylko Park where the Buffalo Grove Park District will hold the Pride Picnic. Parade organizers recommend parking in the neighborhoods off of Buffalo Grove Road, north of Deerfield Parkway...or being dropped off.
