  • Indivisible Western Lake County (IWLC) January 6 Demonstration

    When: Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00pm
    Where: NW corner of Route 83 and Monaville Road, outside Walmart, Lake Villa

    What: Attendees at IWLC’s January 6 Democracy Now Demonstration will stand on the sidewalk with signs. Attendees should show up at 12:45pm to hold a sign and remind neighbors, “no more lies about Jan. 6-Democracy Now”. Speakers Lake County  Clerk Anthony Vega, Anton Mathews & Esiah Campos will talk about the importance of voting and why the 2024 election is the most important of our lives!   • Documentary Screening, “How Martin Luther King Jr. Changed the World”

    What: McHenry County Juneteenth Organization and McHenry County College present a 45-minute documentary, How Martin Luther King Jr. Changed the World. Rev.   • Fremont Township Democrats January Meeting

    Where:  Lakeside Recreation Center, 900 S. Lake St., Mundelein (small party room) and online via Zoom.
    What: All things political will be discussed, including preparation for the upcoming primaries and how to lay the groundwork for victory in 2024.     What: On Friday, January 5, State Representative Jonathan Carroll submitted a resignation letter effective that evening at midnight. Pursuant to Illinois law, the Democratic Committeepersons for the 57th District, specifically Northfield Township/Tracy Katz Muhl, Wheeling Township/Mark Walker, New Trier Township/Dean Maragos, and Lake County/Lauren Beth Gash, will hold a public meeting on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 7:30 pm at the Northbrook Public Library, Pollak Room. The committee will cast weighted votes to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term with a member of the Democratic Party.   • Frederick Douglass Traveling Exhibition in Waukegan
