Lake Dems is REV-ing Up to Reach Every Voter—and We Need Your Help!
Lake Dems volunteers are busy knocking doors, talking to voters about how important it is to vote for Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. Studies show that talking to voters at their doors can increase turnout by up to 8%. That is the winning margin in close races.
You can make a difference by joining our Reach Every Voter (REV) initiative. Please email us at info@lakedems.org to let us know if you are willing to help.

Candidate Corner: Getting to Know Erin Cartwright, Candidate for Lake County Circuit Court Clerk
As your Lake County Circuit Court Clerk, I am honored to serve both residents and our legal community. After earning my law degree in 1999, I dedicated my legal career to Lake County.
Since being elected I have implemented changes that are making a real difference. In the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, we’ve transitioned to a fully digital document system, and our case management system is now online.
These developments save significant taxpayer resources and reduce waste, improving our environment. Our case management system saved $7 million at implementation and will save $1 million annually.
One of my highest priorities has been to better serve our community. Under my leadership, staff morale is at its highest and our office is far more responsive to the residents we serve. The Clerk’s Office also has one of the lowest staff turnover rates of any county-level department in Lake County. I also secured the first union contract for the Clerk’s Office. It was not only the right thing to do, it has had an overwhelmingly positive impact on my staff.
I will always stand up for our shared Democratic values and do what is right for you and every person in our Lake County community. I am honored by your support and would appreciate if you would display a yard sign, available on my website at citizensforerin.org.
It’s Time to Make Your Plan for Voting
Lake County Early Voting Has Begun Starting September 26, all registered Lake County voters are eligible to vote early at the Lake County Main Courthouse lobby in Waukegan. More early voting sites will be open across the county beginning on October 21. Unlike on Election Day, Lake County voters can vote at any site countywide regardless of where they live. Click here to find a complete list of early voting locations. |
The Lake County Clerk Began Sending Vote-by-Mail Ballots Last Thursday
It’s not too late to apply for a Vote-by-Mail ballot! The Lake County Clerk’s office must receive your completed ballot application by 5:00pm on the Thursday before Election Day, October 31; but don’t take a chance and wait that long.
Note that you do not have to use the US Postal Service to vote by mail. There will be drop boxes in every Early Voting location starting October 21, and six 24-hour permanent drop boxes available from September 26 until 7:00pm on Election Day, November 5.
Click here for a complete list of drop box locations.
