Climate Change Isn’t Real?
If you think it was hot last week, you’re not alone. Data from the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Prediction indicates that the week of July 4th was the hottest week ever recorded. And it’s just starting, with extreme heat waves across the country already affecting nearly 50 million people.
And yet Republican climate deniers, including U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), have continued to insist that climate change either isn’t real or isn’t a problem.
A spokesperson for President Biden, Abdullah Hassan, has said, “The alarming extreme weather events impacting millions of Americans underscore the urgency of President Biden’s climate agenda and the absurdity of continued efforts by Republican lawmakers to block and repeal it.” And Americans agree. Polling shows that the overwhelming majority of voters support the Inflation Reduction Act, the keystone of Biden’s climate agenda.
The choice is clear: Support Democrats and beat the heat, or support Republicans and let the heat beat us, our nation, and our world.
