On Six-Month Anniversary Of Assault On US Capitol, Local Democrats Call On Lake County Republicans To Break Their Silence And Tell Voters If They Believe That Donald Trump Lost The 2020 Election Or If They Agree With Trump’s Big Lie
Lake County, IL — The Lake County Democrats (Lake Dems) and the Tenth Congressional District Democrats (Tenth Dems) are calling on Republican elected officials, candidates, and party officials to tell the public if they agree that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. They refused to do so after the assault on the US Capitol on January 6th, as well as two months ago when Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney was removed from her Republican Party leadership position after stating several times that Trump had lost.
“Six months after the attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters violently interfering with our democracy, Republicans in Washington and across the country shockingly continue to dangerously promote Donald Trump’s Big Lie and rewrite history about what happened on January 6th, so voters deserve to know whether Lake County Republicans holding office, running for office, or leading the local Republican Party can acknowledge the truth that Donald Trump lost a free and fair election to Joe Biden,” said Lake County Democrats Chair Lauren Beth Gash.
