    What: Tenth Dems, Lake Dems, and the Illinois Democratic Chairs’ Association present “The Right to Vote.” Hear about voting rights in Illinois and help our Democratic candidates by making sure voters can exercise those rights. Our in-depth, practical training is open to Democrats. We offer 1.5 hours of FREE CLE (Continuing Legal Education) to attorneys.

  • League of Women Voters (LWV) Webinar Candidate Forum with Mike Clark (R) and Bob Morgan (D)

    What: LWV sponsors a candidate forum with Mike Clark and Bob Morgan, candidates for State Representative of Illinois 58th District. The candidates will answer questions from the public submitted during registration. This forum is part of a series hosted by the Leagues of Women Voters of Glenview-Glencoe, Deerfield-Lincolnshire, Highland Park-Highwood, and Lake Forest-Lake Bluff. Free and open to the public.

  • Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month – Latinos in Lake County

    What: Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart hosts an event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with the Latinos in Lake County.  Those who have gone above and beyond for the Latino Community in the past, those who are currently making an impact, and those who will continue to advocate for Latinos in Lake County will be recognized.

  • Democracy DIY Postcard Party!

    When: Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:30pm

    Where: Zion-Benton Public Library, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion

    What: There will be a short Meet & Greet, followed by time to write postcards reminding folks to get out and vote. This is an “open house” style event; drop in any time and stay as long as you want.

  • Shredding and Collecting Unwanted Items Event

    When: Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 9:00am to Noon

    Where: First Baptist Church parking lot, 400 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan

    What: NAACP Lake County in partnership with SWALCO, COOL Learning Experience and City of Waukegan sponsor a shredding of unwanted documents and the collecting of shedded items to be reused, recycled or donated.

  • Jane’s Army Pro-Choice Canvass

    When: Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00 pm

    Where: 10 N. Lake Street, Suite 101, Grayslake

    What: Attendees will canvass with Jane’s Army for pro-choice candidates: Mary Edly-Allen, Laura Faver Dias, and IL Supreme Court candidate, Judge Elizabeth Rochford.   • Day of Action in Fremont

    When: Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00pm

    Where: Lake Dems, Holly Kim, and Dan Didech campaign office, 105 N. Seymour Ave., Mundelein

    What: Fremont Dems reach out to Democratic voters in surrounding areas to help Get Out The Vote. They will stuff literature into door-hanging bags and then do literature drops at Democratic doors. Copies of the new Lake County Voter Guide will be distributed.   • Autumn Garden Party for Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul

    What: A Saturday afternoon garden party supporting Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and hearing from Democratic candidates including Judge Elizabeth Rochford, the critically important candidate for Illinois Supreme Court.   • Tenth Dems and Lake Dems Zoom Presentation, “The Right to Vote”

    What: Those who attend this training will learn about voting rights in Illinois and how to help our Democratic candidates as a member of the Tenth Dems/Lake Dems Election Protection team by making sure voters can exercise those rights.     What: Speakers include: IL State Treasurer Mike Frerichs, IL Supreme Court Candidate Judge Elizabeth Rochford, Congressman Brad Schneider, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and many others.     What: Wauconda Township Dems hold a highway cleanup along Bonner Road. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite Dems shirt, sturdy shoes and long pants. Safety vests will be provided.   • Go North to Help Mandela Barnes and Gov. Tony Evers Win in Wisconsin

    When: Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00pm

    Where: Meet up at a location to be announced in either Kenosha or Racine, or connect with carpools at locations in Northern Illinois TBA

    What: Join a group going to Wisconsin. Following a brief training, we’ll knock doors for Democratic candidate for Senate Mandela Barnes and Democratic Governor Tony Evers. Helping Mandela Barnes defeat Ron Johnson could mean the difference between losing the Senate or increasing our Democratic majority. Re-electing Governor Evers would keep in place a critical check against the Republican-controlled Wisconsin legislature. Sign up here.

  • Join Governor JB Pritzker and Lake Dems for a Rally to Elect Democrats on Wednesday!

    When: Wednesday, October 26th at 12 noon

    What: Come join JB Pritzker and the Lake County Democrats for an Early Voting/Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Rally. Snacks and beverages will be served. After the rally, many of us will walk over to the County Building to vote. Yard signs and walk lists will be available.

    Where: New Lake County Democrats’ headquarters in Waukegan (one block up from our old office) – come see it. 228A N. Genesee St., Waukegan.
