    When: Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00pm. Gather by 12:00pm, step off by 1:00pm.

    Where: Franklin Street and Sheridan Road, Waukegan

    What: Lake Dems will have a spot in Waukegan’s American Independence Parade. Walk with Democratic elected officials, candidates and fellow Democrats.

  • Join Fremont Dems and Lake Dems at the July 2nd Mundelein Parade

    When: Sunday, July 2, 2023. Gather by 1:30pm; step off 2:00pm.

    Where: Mundelein High School parking lot, 1350 W Hawley St, Mundelein

    What: Join Fremont Democrats, Lake Dems and Democratic elected officials at the Mundelein Community Days Parade on Sunday July 2.   • Walk with Lake Dems in the Vernon Hills 4th of July Parade

    When: Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Gather by 8:30am; step off at 9:00am

    Where: The parade steps off at the corner of Deerpath Drive and Atrium Drive, just south of Highway 60 (Town Line Road). Marching units will follow a parade route south to Sullivan Drive and then west to Aspen Drive, with a final destination at Hawthorn Elementary South, 430 Aspen Drive.

    What: Walk with Lake Dems, Democratic elected officials, including Congressman Brad Schneider, State Rep. Dan Didech, and other Democrats in Vernon Hills’ 4th of July Parade.

  • Walk with Lake Dems and Wauconda Township Dems in the Island Lake 4th of July Parade

    When: July 4, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00am. Gather by 9:15am, step off at 10:00am.

    Where: Westridge Shopping Center, 648 E. State Rd., Island Lake. Please park/gather at the far west side of the parking.

    What: Lake Dems and Wauconda Township Dems are participating in the Village of Island Lake’s 4th of July Parade & Community Picnic. Walk with Democratic elected officials, candidates, and fellow Democrats.

  • Walk with Lake Dems and Antioch Dems in the 4th of July Parade

    When: Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Gather by 10:00am; step off at 10:30am

    Where: Antioch High School parking lot, 1133 Main Street, Antioch

    What: Walk with Democrats in the Antioch 4th of July Parade! Step off is at 10:30 am at the northeast corner of Route 173 and Route 83. Walk north up Route 83 / Main Street to the Antioch Library. Please join us - wear your blue Lake Dems T-shirt, and if you don't have one, wearing blue is encouraged.

  • Highland Park Community Walk on July 4th

    When: Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Start walking at 11:00am

    Where: Begins at St. John’s Avenue and Elm Place. There will be no banners or units.

    What: This will be a solemn commemorative walk for all whose lives were affected by last year’s Highland Park tragedy. Free. REGISTRATION REQUIRED: RSVP here.

  • Walk with Congressman Brad Schneider in the Deerfield 4th of July Parade

    When: Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Gather by 11:30am; step off at Noon

    Where: Meet Congressman Schneider’s group at 200 Deerfield Road, Deerfield.

    What: Walk with Democratic elected officials, including Congressman Brad Schneider, Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim, and other Democrats in Deerfield’s 4th of July Parade.

  • Prescription Takeback Event

    When: Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 9:00am to 12:00 noon

    Where: 202 S. Genesee St., Waukegan

    What: State Representative Rita Mayfield, State Senator Adriane Johnson, Northern Illinois Recovery Community Organization and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office sponsor an opportunity to turn in unneeded medication for safe disposal.

  • DonkeyFest3

    When: Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00pm

    Where: The Irish Mill, 26592 N, 26592 IL-83, Mundelein

    What: A fundraiser that will feature food, drinks and live music. The event will be a memorial for Justin McGrath. Candidates and their representatives are encouraged to attend and may bring signs, bumper stickers, and other campaign gear to distribute. Cover charge is $20.   • Antmound Foundation Gala Fundraiser

    When:  Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 6:00 to 10:00pm

    Where: Holiday Inn Chicago North – Gurnee, 6161 West Grand Avenue, Gurnee

    What: Antmound Foundation Inaugural Gala and Awards Banquet features dinner, dancing, and a live performance. Proceeds from this event will help the organization continue its work in the areas of education, economic development, entrepreneurship and legal justice.

  • Deputy Voter Registrar Training in Waukegan

    When:  Monday, July 102023 at 3:00pm

    Where:  Lake County Court Tower,  Sheriff’s Training Room, 301 Washington St., FL 1, Waukegan

    What:  A training for Deputy Voter Registrars will be held. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and registered to vote in Lake County. The event is open only to Lake County residents who are interested in helping to register new voters. Deputy Registrars must be trained in the county in which they live, but once trained, can register voters anywhere in Illinois. Training takes about an hour. This training is being held through the County Clerk’s office and is free of charge. Sign-ups will be taken up to 24 hours before the class starts.   • Meeting of Fremont Township Democrats

    When: Wednesday, July 12, 2023, 6:00 to 7:00pm

    Where: Lakeside Lanes Recreation Center, 900 S Lake St., Mundelein (small party room)

    What: All things political will be discussed, including upcoming Connection Canvassing opportunities. A hybrid system will be used, with some meeting in-person and everyone else Zooming in.   • “Let’s Talk Politics” During Democrats Open House at ArtWauk in Waukegan

    When: Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. (“Let’s Talk Politics begins at 5:30pm.)

    Where: Democratic Headquarters, 228A N. Genesee St., Waukegan

    What: Tenth Dems and Lake County Democrats host a “Let’s Talk Politics” at our office during Waukegan’s monthly ArtWauk art event. Snacks will be available. Admission is free and open to Democrats.

    “Let’s Talk Politics” is a moderated discussion and allows opportunities for Democrats in and around Lake County and the 10th District to talk about important issues of the day with each other and guests that often include elected officials, candidates, political analysts, and authors.

    ArtWauk is the monthly event in Waukegan that celebrates the city’s growing art community. It takes place the third Saturday evening of each month. Neighboring shops and vendors in the downtown lakefront area surrounding the historic Genesee Theatre stay open, creating a festive atmosphere. We have a great spot— the office is one-half block south of the Genesee Theater.

    What: Announcement of prize winners for Instagram raffle fundraiser supporting Live4Lali. It is an organization whose mission is to empower individuals and communities to overcome substance use disorder and embrace a life of health and wellness.     What: Tenth Dems and Moraine Township Democrats host a session of Tenth Dems University’s Let’s Talk Politics. Let’s Talk Politics is a moderated discussion that provides opportunities for Democrats in and around the 10th Congressional District to talk with one another about important issues of the day.
