What: A free screening of the 20-minute documentary short, “Memorial,” directed by local filmmaker Jon Siskel, followed by a panel discussion. The film explores the way Highland Park came together to heal in the aftermath of the July 4th shooting. Panelists are Nina Vinik (Moderator), founder of Project Unloaded; State Representative Bob Morgan; Rachel Jacoby, Vice President of the Illinois Alliance to Prevent Gun Violence and former March for Our Lives organizer; and Stephanie Diaz, Project Unloaded Youth Council member.

What: Please join documentary filmmaker Jon Siskel, County Board Member Sara Knizhnik, and Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek, for a screening of Jon’s (20-min) documentary, “Memorial,” in honor of June’s Gun Violence Awareness Month and the upcoming two-year anniversary of the July 4th tragedy. What: The Juneteenth Festival is a celebration of the holiday commemorating the date of June 19, 1865 when federal marshals marched into Galveston, Texas and enforced an order of emancipation for 250,000 enslaved Blacks.
