It was great to see so many of you at our Lake Dems Democrats Defending Democracy Reception on Flag Day Wednesday night. Thanks to those who were able to join us. The attendance was great, the speakers were inspiring, and the energy in the room was contagious. We’re so proud of our candidates, elected officials, contributors and volunteers. You’re the reason Lake County is turning bluer and bluer!
We were so honored to hear a rousing motivational speech from the Speaker of the Illinois House Emanuel “Chris” Welch, who pointed out that “winners do the work” and asked the crowd what they personally would be doing to save democracy as we head into the 2024 election cycle. The event was described as “like a revival,” and it certainly was. There’s a lot to do as we move into the next election cycle and it’s clear that Lake County Democrats left ready for the fight ahead.
