Local Democrats Call On Lake County Republicans
Tell Voters If They Agree With Ousted Leader Congresswoman Liz Cheney That Donald Trump Lost The 2020 Election Or If They Agree With Trump’s Big Lie
The Lake County Democrats (Lake Dems) and the Tenth Congressional District Democrats (Tenth Dems) are calling on Republican elected officials, candidates, and party officials to tell the public if they agree that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney stated that fact several times and was removed from her Republican Party leadership position. Local Republicans should publicly state whether they agree that Cheney should have been ousted for not pushing Donald Trump’s Big Lie.
“Voters deserve to know whether Lake County Republicans holding office, running for office, or leading the local Republican Party can acknowledge the truth that Donald Trump lost a free and fair election to Joe Biden. Local Republicans should say whether Liz Cheney should have been removed from her leadership role because she refused to push Donald Trump’s dangerous lie about the 2020 election,” said Lake County Democrats Chair Lauren Beth Gash. “After what the world witnessed on January 6th, it’s clear our very democracy is at stake.”
Lake Dems is the Democratic Party’s county organization for Lake County, Illinois. Tenth Dems is an all-volunteer grassroots organization that works to support and elect Democrats at all levels of government within and around Illinois’ 10th Congressional District.
