New Lake Dems Office Draws Enthusiastic Crowd in Grayslake |
We're on the move in Lake County and celebrated with an Open House at our new Lake County Democrats office centrally located in Grayslake. (Lake Dems had an office in Grayslake pre-Covid.) This office is our third in Lake County, joining our Waukegan and Highland Park locations.
We would like to thank Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim, Lake County Board Member Esiah Campos, Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg, and Lake County Clerk Anthony Vega for helping us open this great space. We invite candidates, volunteers, organizers, and elected officials to join us as we work to get Democrats elected up and down the ballot. |

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month |
During National Mental Health Awareness Month, Lake Dems recognizes the tens of millions of Americans with mental health issues, and we celebrate the loved ones and mental health professionals who support them every day.
The Lake County Health Department provides services including Mental Health First Aid training classes that teach you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Learn more about Mental Health First Aid, view upcoming classes, and register now at www.mentalhealth.today.

State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart’s Office Detains Man Charged with Possessing Child Pornography |
| Last week a Lake County Judge granted the State’s petition to detain a person being charged with four counts of child pornography. After the detention hearing, Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart stated: |
“Our office is committed to protecting all children in Lake County, and I commend the Sheriff’s team and the Attorney General’s Office for their investigation. This offender is now jailed indefinitely because of our new system that does not allow him to post cash and be released. Others charged with this exact same crime have been able to post cash in the past, and those days are over.”
