Whether you’re a volunteer, grassroots activist, staffer, or candidate, with so much going on this election cycle, you’ll definitely want to know how to collect signatures on petitions for 2022 races.
Join us on Saturday, November 20th, as Lake Dems and Tenth Dems U host a true nuts-and-bolts conversation, How-to for 2022: The Petition Process. We’ll be hearing from leading election lawyer Ed Mullen about the petition process so candidates can get and stay on the ballot. Free admission. Wednesday, 11/17: Deputy Voter Registrar Training in Waukegan. Free training open only to Lake County residents interested in helping register new voters. 3pm at Lake County Court Tower – Sheriff’s Training Room, 301 Washington St., FL 1, Waukegan.
Wednesday, 11/17: Indivisible Western Lake County (IWLC) Monthly Meeting. Discussion about upcoming events and preparation for petition-passing with Lake County Clerk Robin O’Connor and District 2 Supreme Court nominee Liz Rochford. 7-8:30pm, virtual event.
Wednesday, 11/17: Nancy Rotering at NOW Meeting, “Finding the Power of Your Voice.” North/Northwest Suburban Chapter of National Organization for Women (NOW) hosts Highland Park Mayor and Illinois Supreme Court Candidate Nancy Rotering for a Zoom discussion at 7pm.
Saturday, 11/20: Lake Dems and Tenth Dems Present How-to for 2022: The Petition Process. A practical training cosponsored by Lake Dems and Tenth Dems U for volunteers, candidates, and prospective candidates about what it takes to get (and stay) on the ballot in Illinois. Presentation by top election attorney Ed Mullen. 1.0 free CLE credit available for attorneys. Online via Zoom, 10:30am. Free admission. Open to Democrats.
Saturday, 11/20: Democrats Open House at ArtWauk in Waukegan. Tenth Dems and Lake County Democrats host an Open House at our office during Waukegan’s monthly ArtWauk art event. Snacks will be available. Lake County Democratic Headquarters, 118 N. Genesee St., Waukegan, 5-7:30pm. Come in to just say hi, or to talk about volunteer opportunities.
Monday, 11/29: Young Professionals in Support of Congressman Brad Schneider. Address provided upon RSVP – Chicago (Streeterville neighborhood), 5:30–7pm. All necessary safety precautions will be taken. Proof of vaccination will be checked at the door.
Saturday, 12/4: Grant Township Democrats Presents The Changing Climate of Climate Policy. 10-11:30am on Zoom. Attendees will learn what science tells us about climate change, what can be done about it, which policies are being considered, and how to get involved.
Sunday, 12/5: Warren Township Democrats Holiday Party and Fall Fundraiser. 2-4pm, Tacos El Norte, 401 N. Riverside Dr. #27, Gurnee. Warren Township Democrats hold their Annual Holiday Party, this year combining it with a fundraising event so they can better help candidates in 2022.
